Panama’s economy continues to grow as more high-rise residential and commercial towers are under construction in the capital city. Another aspect of this growth is the increased availability of hotel rooms in Panama City to accommodate the growing number of tourists arriving in the country.

The tourism industry is also making its presence known in the many upscale hotels and resorts located along Panama’s Pacific Coast, such as the Decameron, Buenaventura, Coronado, and other hotels and resorts. As a result, the construction sector has focused on the district of San Carlos as new hotels and villas, in addition to new shopping centers, are being planned or are already under construction in order to satisfy the needs of the many foreigners who are planning to visit or retire, live and enjoy the benefits that Panama has to offer.
