TOURISTS ARE CHOOSING PANAMA TO DO THEIR SHOPPING, AND NEW MALLS AND HOTELS ARE ALSO OPENING IN THE INTERIOR

Panama has become a regional shopping center for the many tourists who choose to come here because of the abundant variety of top quality goods that can be found at the various malls at much lower prices. Panama City has six major malls: Multiplaza Pacific, Multicentro, Albrook Mall, El Dorado, and the latest, Metro Mall, located across from the Los Pueblos shopping center.
Another large mall is already under construction on the west side of the city and will feature several well known retail stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, hardware and home improvement stores, theatres and much more. It is scheduled for opening in 2011.
Very much like what has been done in other countries, some malls in Panama are merging with hotels in order to offer their customers the convenience of being able to shop and stay within the same area. Two well known shopping centers in the city have adjoining hotels. These are the Multiplaza Pacific mall and the Hotel Courtyard Panama by Marriott, and Multicentro and the Hotel Radisson Decapolis. Panama’s interior will also have similar facilities as a new shopping center will be built in David, Chiriquí, and will feature hotels are offices.
All these new projects worth millions of dollars are a clear indication of the great confidence that investors have in Panama, and that the country has become Latin America’s destination of choice for shopping and tourism.
