La Quinta to Build 13 Hotels in Panama

The American hotel chain, La Quinta, will begin building 13 hotels in Panama this year with the first scheduled to open near the Albrook Commercial Center in 2012. The other twelve locations chosen by La Quinta are: Isla Grande, Coronado and El Valle, David, Aguadulce, Colón, Bocas del Toro, Pedasí, Santiago, Las Tablas, Penonomé, and Chitré. The hotels in Isla Grande, Coronado and El Valle will be smaller boutique hotels with around 30 rooms while the other nine locations will feature hotels with approximately 170 rooms. The investment group, led by Lincoln García, President of Interoceanic Hotels, y Rajiv Trivedi, Head of Development, anticipates a $30 million investment. Source: La Prensa de Panamá, March 11, 2010.
