Panama Earns Investment Grade Status
Panama has earned the BBB- status from the Fitch Ratings agency, a landmark achievement for the dynamic country that has worked diligently in the past few years to achieve this rating. The rating is viewed as a great opportunity for the dynamic and diverse Panamanian economy as it will allow some institutional investors to seriously consider the country as a destination for their funds. With the widening of the canal and the construction of the Metro, both looming large, this is also seen as a vote of confidence in the stewardship of the current administration’s economic policies by international organizations.
