Copa Airlines to Invest 600 Million USD to Expand Fleet

Panamanian airline company Copa Airlines has announced plans to carry out investments totaling 600 million USD in order to expand its fleet. The company also announced plans to launch four new flight frequencies and hire approximately 900 new employees. Copa Airlines reported a 15% growth in passenger traffic in December 2009, compared to period in 2008 and it targets a 10% rise in 2010. Copa Holdings, S.A., a Panamanian corporation chaired by local businessman Stanley Motta reported 1.3 billion in sales in 2009. Source: La Prensa de Panama January 14, 2010
